As pioneers in the field of piano hire in the 1960's, Marksons have developed a wide and extensive hire fleet, ranging from the smallest six octave piano to Concert Grands.

So often we hear of people who have started to learn, and have bought a cheap piano either from their local paper, or from an auction, and when they have used it for a while find that there are sticking notes, or it won't stay in tune which inevitably puts them off playing. With hiring, there is the opportunity to be able to play and practice on a good instrument which is maintained and working properly without it costing the earth.

Some of the situations which make hiring a fantastic alternative to buying a piano are :-

  • Children about to start their first piano lessons at school or with a private teacher -
    - Both will normally require an instrument sited at home for practice
  • Adults, and semi - retired / retired people who just want to have a go at playing the piano
  • People who are quite migrant through work and commitments, and are not likely to be static for any great length of time
    - The breakpoint between hiring and buying and re-selling is approximaately 3 years
  • Naturally one of the greatest advantages to hiring is havng the opportunity to "Try Before you Buy" thereby giving you the opportunity of getting used to the feel, sound, aesthetics before spending an appreciable amount of money on a capital purchase such as a piano. With our Hire with Option to Purchase Plan means that once you have decided to buy a piano a proportion of the hire fees you have paid will be deducted from the original purchase price specified at the time of commencing hire. The hire fee refund proportion is transferrable onto ANY piano you buy from us, but purchasing the piano you hire means you have been protected from any price increases which may have occurred.
